Mercedes

The trademark of Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Limited, the Formula 1 team and constructor of the Mercedes-Benz automotive group, which has been participating in Formula 1 since the 2010 season. The Mercedes-Benz group debuted in Formula 1 in 1954 and took part with great success in the 1954-1955 seasons. However, after the 1955 season, Mercedes left the series and, despite supplying engines in the 1990s and 2000s, did not return as a works team until November 2009. After fifteen years of cooperation with the McLaren team, Mercedes-Benz (through its parent company Daimler AG), together with Aabar Investments, reached an agreement to purchase 75.1% of the shares (Daimler: 45.1%; Aabar: 30%) of the Brawn GP team, with the remaining shares distributed among other shareholders. The Brawn team won the drivers' and constructors' titles in the 2009 season, the only season for the team, which had been bought out by the managers of Honda Racing F1.
