Meteorite in Chelyabinsk

On February 15, 2013, a meteorite fell on the territory of Russia, in the city of Chelyabinsk. The blast wave produced as the celestial body passed through the atmosphere damaged thousands of buildings in Chelyabinsk and the surrounding region. More than 1,200 people sought medical help at the time.

Another 38 were hospitalized. According to estimates by scientists from Columbia, this meteorite is the same age as the Solar System, about 450 million years old.
