
Mykola Martynenko
Mykola Martynenko – Ukrainian politician, businessman, People's Deputy of six convocations.
He was twice elected in the 21st electoral district (Volyn region), and twice more – on the list of "Our Ukraine" (he headed the faction in 2005-2006). In 2012, he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada on the "Batkivshchyna" list, and to the Rada of the 8th convocation – from the "People's Front".
For a long period, he chaired the Committee on the Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety.
In 2016, he voluntarily gave up his parliamentary mandate in connection with the scandal surrounding the NABU investigation into his possible involvement in corruption.
The Swiss Federal Prosecutor's Office is investigating a criminal case against Mykola Martynenko on suspicion of bribery and money laundering – according to media reports, he helped the Czech company Skoda SA obtain contracts at the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant.
