Oleksandr Shepelev
People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 5th and 6th convocations. He was elected on the list of the "Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc". In 2010 he was expelled from the BYuT faction and joined the Party of Regions faction, which he later left.
Since 2013 he has been on the international wanted list on suspicion of attempted murder and embezzlement on an especially large scale.
The former MP was accused of embezzling funds from "Rodovid Bank" and ordering several murders, in particular of banker Serhii Kyrychenko in 2003 and Interior Ministry colonel Roman Yerokhin in 2006. In 2012, Shepelev was accused of attempting to murder banker Serhii Diadechko.
In March 2015, the former deputy was detained in Russia, where he had fled from a hospital in Kyiv together with a guard in the summer of 2014. In April 2017, information appeared that Oleksandr Shepelev had been detained in Russia.
On February 9, 2018, the Prosecutor General's Office announced Shepelev's detention.
