Olena Pidhrushna

A Ukrainian biathlete, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, Olympic champion in Sochi, world champion, 5-time European champion, winner and medalist of Biathlon World Cup stages. From March 25, 2014 to April 8, 2015, she was Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

Her sporting achievements include gold at the 2009 World Cup stage in Ruhpolding (relay), bronze at the 2006 Junior and Youth World Championships, silver at the 2007 Junior European Championships, gold as part of the relay team at the 2009 European Championships (Ufa, Russia), and silver as part of the relay team at the 2010 European Championships (Otepaa, Estonia).

At the 2011 World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk, she won "silver" in the 4x6 km relay, but due to Oksana Khvostenko's violation of anti-doping rules, the International Biathlon Union stripped the Ukrainian women's relay team of second place in the 2011 Biathlon World Championships race.

At the 2013 World Championships, she won 3 medals: gold in the sprint, silver in the relay and bronze in the pursuit.

She graduated from Ternopil National Pedagogical University (teacher of physical culture and sports). She is a postgraduate student at Lviv State University of Physical Culture.
