
Phone Call Between Zelenskyy and Trump
Phone conversations between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump consistently attract considerable attention both in Ukraine and around the world.
Zelenskyy and Trump discuss ending the war in Ukraine, new formats of international cooperation and sanctions against Russia. During Donald Trump's second presidential term and the intensification of hostilities in Ukraine in 2025, the presidents have already had one phone call and one in-person meeting in the US.
In total, Zelenskyy and Trump officially spoke:
- On April 21, 2019. Trump congratulated Zelenskyy on his victory in the presidential election, expressing strong support for Ukraine and readiness to cooperate.
- On July 25, 2019. The conversation, which later became central to the Trump impeachment inquiry, touched on US domestic political issues and the work of Joe Biden's son Hunter.
- On February 12, 2025. A conversation about a new security agreement and the conclusion of a mineral resources deal.
