Thailand is a country in Southeast Asia. It borders Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Myanmar.

Bangkok has been in conflict with Phnom Penh for years. The countries are disputing territory on the border.

The disputes flare up and then die down. Cambodia and Thailand began hostilities on July 24, 2025, after a Thai soldier lost limbs when he stepped on a mine. Wounded and dead have been reported in both countries. 

On July 26–27, 2025, Donald Trump held telephone conversations with the leaders of the two countries. Thailand expressed cautious openness, and Cambodia stated that it was ready for immediate and unconditional ceasefire negotiations.

After that, Thailand claimed that Cambodia had allegedly launched more than 250 drones at it.
