The Collapse of the Bridge in Genoa

On August 14, in the Italian city of Genoa, the Morandi Bridge over the Polcevera River partially collapsed. Rescuers found several cars crushed by bridge debris with dead people inside. In total, at least 39 people died as a result of the bridge collapse.

The bridge collapse led to a traffic collapse: dozens of motorists stopped near the tunnel preceding the bridge.
