The Druzhba Oil Pipeline
The Druzhba oil pipeline is one of the largest oil pipeline systems, with a capacity of 2 million barrels per day. It runs from Tatarstan to Samara Oblast. In Bryansk, it splits into two large branches:
- the northern one (Belarus, Poland, Germany, Lithuania and Latvia),
- the southern one (Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary).
There were three attacks on the "Druzhba" oil pipeline during August 2025, namely on August 13, 18 and 21. Due to the strikes, on August 19 and 22 the pipeline stopped supplying oil to Slovakia and Hungary, but resumed operation.
Due to a Russian attack, the Druzhba oil pipeline was damaged and stopped operating on January 27, 2026.
Slovakia and Hungary demanded that oil supplies through the pipeline be resumed and promised to support the EU loan for Ukraine.
After repairs, since April 22, 2026, the Druzhba oil pipeline has been operating in Ukraine.
