UOC-KP
The UOC-KP is an Orthodox church in Ukraine with the patriarch's residence in Kyiv, which existed from 1992 to 2018.
At one time, it was the largest Christian church in the country. It was headed by the Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine. From 1995 to 2018, the UOC-KP was headed by Patriarch Filaret. It was divided into 34 eparchies uniting more than 5,000 parishes. The patriarchate's central cathedral is St. Volodymyr's Cathedral in Kyiv.
In 2018, the UOC-KP was dissolved and joined to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This happened after the Unification Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox churches adopted a charter and elected Epiphanius as primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
In 2019, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew signed the Tomos of autocephaly – the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) became independent.
