Yaroslav Dubnevych
Yaroslav Dubnevych is a Ukrainian politician and businessman, the brother of Bohdan Dubnevych, suspected of embezzling budget funds.
Born in 1969 in the village of Zubra in the Lviv region. He graduated from shoemaking vocational school No. 32 and worked as a press operator at the Pustomyty district consumer services plant.
In 2006, Dubnevych became a member of the Lviv Oblast Council, deputy head of the BYuT faction and a member of the standing commission on property. He was elected to the oblast council a second time and sat there until 2012. After that, he was a People's Deputy.
The Dubnevyches own a railway track construction corporation. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office suspects that, starting in 2014, the elder of the brothers lobbied the interests of his own enterprises to obtain state contracts from "Ukrzaliznytsia". In September 2019, shortly after the new Rada began its work, "Ukrzaliznytsia" handed over to the Security Service evidence against companies linked to the Dubnevych brothers. Ukrzaliznytsia found that in 2018–2019 the Dubnevyches' companies supplied Ukrzaliznytsia with parts that they supposedly manufactured themselves.
On October 31, the parliament by a majority vote consented to Yaroslav Dubnevych being brought to criminal liability, detained and arrested. He was remanded in custody as a preventive measure. However, bail of UAH 90 million was posted for him.
