Zaporizhzhia is a city in south-eastern Ukraine which, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war, has become a major hub for displaced persons.

Since 2023, Zaporizhzhia district has been on the list of territories of possible hostilities. Currently, the regional centre is located less than 40 kilometres from the line of combat.

Explosions are heard in Zaporizhzhia every day, destroying buildings and killing civilians. Russia continues to attack the city with high-speed missiles, in particular S-300s, Shahed-type drones, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), aerial bombs and other weapons.
