Attack on the Institute of Communications in Poltava
During the day on September 3, 2024, Russia struck Poltava with at least two ballistic missiles. The Institute of Communications and a neighboring hospital were hit.
A residential area is located near the impact site. Windows were blown out in high-rise buildings and facades were damaged. The time between the alert and the strike was so short that it caught people in the middle of evacuating to the bomb shelter.
President Zelenskyy ordered a full and prompt investigation into all the circumstances of what happened.
59 people are known to have been killed, and more than 300 people were injured.
