Chonhar is a village in Ukraine in the Kherson region, on the Chonhar Peninsula; it is the largest settlement on the peninsula and the last village before Crimea.
Chonhar was demined before Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. There is still no answer to the question of who demined Chonhar. But it was precisely thanks to this that Russia was able to quickly occupy the South.
The village of Chonhar was temporarily occupied by Russian troops on February 24, 2022.
