Crimean Bridge
- 9 October
The Crimean Bridge is a bridge across the Kerch Strait that connects the Taman Peninsula (Krasnodar Krai, Russia) with the Kerch Peninsula (occupied Crimea).
The Crimean Bridge is 19 kilometres long, 11.5 of which run over land and another 7.5 km over the sea.
The bridge crossing over the Kerch Strait consists of parallel road and rail sections. The road has 4 traffic lanes.
Russia opened the Kerch Bridge in 2018. Neither Ukraine nor the world recognises the Crimean Bridge, since Russia built it illegally, violating international law and Ukraine's sovereignty.
