Independence Day is a state holiday in Ukraine, celebrated on August 24 every year since 1991.
It was on August 24, 1991, that the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR adopted the Act of Declaration of Independence of Ukraine, thanks to which our country left the USSR and became independent.
