Ratings
Ratings have become considerably more popular recently. They can be seen on television, in the media and even in advertising. Now you can find statistics on any topic of interest – they explain in detail what is currently the most successful, influential, largest and most expensive.
Fresh ratings every day
In Ukraine and around the world, there are many sociological groups with varying degrees of trust that regularly publish new research on one topic or another. The specialisations of such groups vary – they may study:
Party ratings or candidate ratings in Ukraine or other countries;
The popularity and success of media personalities, athletes, stars and public figures;
Economic statistics – the state of the economy in different countries;
The social component – the standard of living in countries, people's satisfaction with life and their needs;
“The very best” indicators – statistics on companies' greatest successes, the best places for tourists, the tallest buildings or the most reliable cars;
Such indicators are intended to acquaint the reader with statistics in a simplified way – by collecting and analysing information, sociological groups convey to people what is worth knowing without unnecessary figures and searching.
Political ratings – what to pay attention to
Presidential and candidate ratings are especially popular – they intensify before parliamentary or presidential elections in all countries of the world. Various sociological groups are responsible for candidate statistics and their success, conducting surveys in different ways:
Online surveys;
Oral surveys of people on the street;
Written data.
Statistical organisations can often be controlled by politicians and oligarchs. Therefore, before believing polls, it is worth finding out whether the sociological group conducting the research is really objective.
During an election campaign, statistics are updated almost daily – information appears both for the first round of elections and ratings for the second round. Based on exit polls and forecasts, voters can get a sense of who has the best chance of winning.
