Tereshchenko is a Ukrainian-French entrepreneur. Michel Tereshchenko belongs to a Cossack-burgher family from the Hlukhiv area with noble status. This family is very well known in Ukraine; they were successful entrepreneurs and prominent patrons of the arts.
He was born in Paris and lived and served in the United States. He has lived in Ukraine since 2003. Tereshchenko founded the company Linen of Desna. In 2015, Poroshenko granted him citizenship. Since 2015, Tereshchenko has been the mayor of Hlukhiv. He announced a Cannabis Therapy Center. The city's former leadership constantly prevented the mayor and his team from making Hlukhiv modern. Because of this, as well as the sabotage of work by local deputies, Tereshchenko decided to resign.
He intends to run in the 2019 presidential election.
