The Murder of Ukrainian Prisoners of War
On April 11, the Russian occupiers published shocking footage of the execution of a Ukrainian prisoner of war. The published videos show a defender's head being cut off with a knife while he was still alive.
The very next day, the SBU launched a pre-trial investigation into this war crime under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Another horrific case became known on December 2. Information, and then a video, appeared online showing that the Russians killed Ukrainian soldiers at the moment they were surrendering.
Later, the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed this. At the same time, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported that a pre-trial investigation had been launched into the violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder.
At the end of December 2023, the Russian occupiers shot 3 captured Ukrainian servicemen. It was established that they were soldiers of the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade.
