Typhoon Hagibis
The most powerful typhoon in the last 60 years, Hagibis, hit Japan on October 11. Over 4 days, 66 people died as a result of the natural disaster.
According to various estimates, the destructive elements left over 800 thousand homes in the capital and areas neighbouring Tokyo without electricity. Local authorities advised over 6 million people to temporarily leave their homes. In addition, 13 people are still considered missing, and at least 149 people were injured.
The typhoon is also expected to bring record heavy rains. Due to possible heavy precipitation, forecasters warn of the threat of landslides, storms and flooding.
