Roman Abramovich on the war in Ukraine
Roman Abramovich was a mediator in the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in 2022. However, after Russia's withdrawal and the discovery of the killings of civilians by Russians in Bucha and Irpin, former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett stated that the negotiations had become meaningless. Although Zelenskyy insisted that peace negotiations should continue, at least to resolve humanitarian issues.
Roman Abramovich came to Kyiv in May 2026 and met with the President of Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Abramovich wanted to find out what concessions Ukraine was ready to make. Zelenskyy told the Russian that Kyiv would not give up Donbas and passed on a message to Putin.
