St. Nicholas Church

St. Nicholas Church in Kyiv is a Roman Catholic church located in the centre of the capital on Velyka Vasylkivska Street.

It is the only building in the neo-Gothic style in Kyiv. The church has had an organ since 1990.

The fire in St. Nicholas Church in 2021 was caused by a short circuit in the organ. At that time, the fire covered approximately 80 square metres.

In 2024, Russia, during its war against Ukraine, damaged the church. In particular, it destroyed the facade stained glass, which is more than 120 years old, and other stained-glass windows.

In 2026, St. Nicholas Church was handed over to the Roman Catholic community for 50 years. People had sought this for more than 20 years.
