The Assassination of Hezbollah Leader Nasrallah
On September 27, 2024, Israel struck the main headquarters of "Hezbollah" in Beirut. According to the media, the target of the attack was the group's leader Hassan Nasrallah. Israel may have used so-called bunker busters – munitions designed to penetrate underground targets.
Journalists also say that less than an hour before this, Israel informed the US that Nasrallah would be struck. However, Washington denies this.
On the morning of September 28, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed that Nasrallah had been killed in an airstrike on Beirut. Later, "Hezbollah" officially confirmed the death of its leader.
