The Meeting Between Trump and Putin
The meeting between Trump and Putin took place on August 15, 2025.
Donald Trump stated that the meeting was useful, but the parties reached no public agreements.
Vladimir Putin said that at the summit he had the opportunity to "calmly and in detail" set out Russia's position on the situation in Ukraine to Donald Trump.
Incidentally, this is the first meeting between a US president and Putin since 2021 – back then, 8 months before Russia's full-scale war in Ukraine, Joe Biden met with the Russian president in Switzerland.
Trump last met with Putin in 2019 at the G20 summit in Osaka.
