The Republican Party of the United States

The Republican Party of the United States emerged in the 19th century. The first Republican president was Abraham Lincoln.

Republicans pursue conservative policies. Unlike the Democrats, they stand for stability.

The Republican Party of the United States does not have one common position on military aid to Ukraine in the war with Russia. For example, Senator Lindsey Graham supports aid, while Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth advocates reducing support.

The Republican Party also holds firm views on some issues. In particular, it:

  • supports the state of Israel;
  • advocates a ban on abortion;
  • supports the detention and deportation of migrants from the US and strengthening the borders.

In the 21st century, US presidents from the Republicans have been George Walker Bush and Donald Trump.
