The Unmanned Systems Forces are a separate branch of forces within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, created in 2024.
At that time, Vadym Sukharevskyi became its head. On June 3, 2025, the post was taken by Robert Brovdi "Magyar", who had previously been commander of the 414th Separate Strike Unmanned Aviation Systems Battalion of the Marine Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, created on the basis of the "Magyar's Birds" unit.
By the way, on June 20, 2025, the USF created the Unmanned Systems Forces grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which included the military units of the USF and the Drone Line. The military explained that this was done to have a single chain of command and a more systematic use of drones.
By the way, Russia's war against Ukraine is called a war of drones, since both sides widely use unmanned aerial vehicles.
