A blackout is a large-scale failure in the power system accompanied by mass disconnection of consumers from electricity. Ukraine is on the verge of a large-scale blackout due to constant massive Russian missile attacks on the power system. The first such strike was on October 10, 2022. With a certain periodicity, Russia continues to target Ukrainian energy facilities in order to de-energise Ukraine and leave its residents without electricity, heat and water.
