Qatar is a state in the Middle East located on a peninsula in the Persian Gulf. It borders Saudi Arabia, and across the sea – the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The basis of its economy is oil and gas. After the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Doha became an alternative supplier of gas to Europe.
The US Al Udeid Air Base is located in Qatar. In addition to the USA, the country maintains relations with Iran and Saudi Arabia, and often serves as a mediator in conflicts.
Also, before Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Qatar started investment projects in Ukraine.
