Refugees are people who, due to extraordinary circumstances (wars, cataclysms, persecution), have left their country and settled in a new state.
Usually, governments have refugee support programmes. In particular, they were introduced after the start of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.
Thus, Ukrainian refugees have settled in Poland, Germany, the USA, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and dozens of other countries around the world.
As of April 2025, almost 7 million refugees from Ukraine were abroad.
