Trump's Impeachment

A scandal erupted in the US over a conversation between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Donald Trump allegedly promised Volodymyr Zelenskyy that relations between the countries would improve if Ukraine resumed the investigation into the gas company Burisma. Hunter Biden, the son of Trump's main rival in the presidential election Joe Biden, is involved in this. The investigation of the case could negatively affect the rating of Trump's rival, which is considered interference in the presidential race.

After this, Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi announced the start of impeachment proceedings against Trump. Democrats, who control the lower house of Congress, accuse Donald Trump of abuse of office. On December 19, the lower house of Congress voted to approve two articles of impeachment.

On February 5, 2020, the final vote took place in the Senate. US President Donald Trump was acquitted of charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
