Valdai is a town in Russia. It is where the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin is located.
On December 29, 2025, during a conversation with US President Donald Trump, Putin complained that 91 drones had allegedly attacked his residence in Valdai. However, the Russian Defense Ministry reported 18 drones.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia was lying. According to the President of Ukraine, the Kremlin is not interested in ending the war, so it is looking for pretexts for new information attacks and escalation.
