
Withdrawal of Troops
The withdrawal of heavy weapons and equipment along the front line in Donbas. It is one of the steps to de-escalate the conflict agreed within the framework of the Trilateral Contact Group negotiations in 2016. However, the disengagement began three years later, in 2019. On June 26, the Joint Forces Operation headquarters announced the start of the first stage of the withdrawal of Ukrainian units under OSCE supervision. The next day, June 27, in the area of Stanytsia Luhanska, pro-Russian militants in turn withdrew their forces and equipment and pulled back from the pedestrian bridge.
The next stage of mirror disengagement began on October 29 in the area of the settlement of Zolote-4 in Luhansk region and was completed on November 1. This was followed by the disengagement near Bohdanivka and Petrivske, which ended on November 11.
