Olenya is a long-range aviation airfield on the Kola Peninsula near Murmansk. Russian Tu-95, Tu-160, Tu-22M3, Su-34 and other aircraft are based there.
It is from there that during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine the enemy launches aircraft that carry out missile strikes on peaceful Ukrainian cities. Usually, Russia attacks from there with Tu-95MS aircraft carrying Kh-101/555 missiles.
The Defense Forces of Ukraine are forced to attack the aircraft and other Russian military facilities at the Olenya airfield in order to reduce enemy strikes on our oblasts.
In particular, on June 1, 2025, the Ukrainian military carried out Operation "Spiderweb", during which they hit 41 Russian strategic aviation aircraft. In particular, there were many Tu-95s at the Olenya airfield at the time of the attack.
