Oleshki is a city in the Kherson region, which has been occupied by Russia since February 24, 2022.
Since December 2025, Oleshki have been under the so-called drone siege. Russia used drones to mine roads near villages and towns.
As of October 2026, there is a humanitarian disaster in Oleshki –, people who remained there are suffering from hunger. Russia keeps people as human shields and does not allow them to leave.
The Russian military from these territories is shelling Kherson, and the Armed Forces cannot retaliate because of the civilian population.
