Protests in Armenia
On November 10, 2020, Armenia signed an agreement with Azerbaijan and Russia on a ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The document provided that the country must vacate part of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan that do not belong to Nagorno-Karabakh. Russian peacekeepers will monitor the implementation of the agreements.
Armenian citizens perceived this agreement as capitulation. Eventually, people took to the streets en masse in protest, disagreeing with the terms of the agreement and demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
