"In any country except Russia," Zelenskyy said he was ready to meet with Putin
Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready to hold direct talks with Vladimir Putin “in any country except Russia.” At the same time, Ukraine expects Donald Trump to put pressure on the Kremlin to initiate a dialogue.
The President of Ukraine spoke about this in an interview with CNN.
Where could the leaders meet?
The head of state ruled out the possibility of traveling to Moscow for talks. At the same time, he named possible venues for a potential summit between the leaders.
“We are ready to meet in any country, just not in Moscow. In the United States, or somewhere in Europe, or in the Middle East,”
– said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Ukrainian leader added that U.S. President Donald Trump has sufficient leverage to persuade the Kremlin leader to agree to such a meeting.
He can do it. He is the president of the United States. He has always said that he has a very good, excellent, strong relationship with Putin,
– Zelenskyy emphasized.
Previously, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Kremlin’s calls for him to visit Moscow were “a blatant 'slap in the face' to the whole world.”
As a reminder, on November 10 – 11, talks are scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi at the working level between representatives of Ukraine and Russia, with the participation of American mediators. The main topics of the consultations are expected to be de-escalation, humanitarian initiatives, and post-war security.
