Will Lose All Allies: Zelenskyy Responds to Whether Putin Would Risk Using Nuclear Weapons

Volodymyr Zelenskyy assessed the risks of the Kremlin using nuclear weapons. He is convinced that Vladimir Putin will not take such a step, as it would cause Russia to lose the support of all its allies.

The President of Ukraine emphasized this in the podcast *The Diary of a CEO*.

A Precedent for Global Conflicts

According to Zelenskyy, if Russia were to use nuclear weapons, even those countries that have maintained partnerships with it so far – including the U.S. and China – would turn away from it. In addition to the loss of allies, such a move would set a dangerous precedent for the entire world.

The head of state emphasized that while many fear the threat of escalation, the use of nuclear weapons poses too great a risk for the Kremlin itself. He noted that if Putin were to take such a step, such weapons could also be used in other conflicts.

If one country can do this, then in the event of a conflict somewhere else – in another region, for example, in the Middle East – it means that if nuclear weapons have been used once, they can be used a second or third time,
– Zelenskyy said.

The president also added that Vladimir Putin and the system he has created are tightly bound to each other. In Zelenskyy’s view, a change in leadership in the Kremlin will occur only naturally, when the Russian dictator’s life comes to an end.

Earlier, the president described how, in the first days of the invasion, Russia spread false information about his escape from Kyiv.
