casino

Until recently, casino operations in Ukraine were illegal. Only in 2020 were gambling establishments able to obtain licenses and operate legally.

Which casinos have become legal

From February 2020, large casino chains began to close, including physical venues, bookmakers and online resources. In accordance with the law, the following ceased operations:

  • Parimatch,

  • Favorit,

  • Vbet,

  • Cosmolot and more than 30 other gambling establishments.

But in August of the same year, the government changed the rules concerning online casinos in Ukraine. From the end of the summer, gambling establishments got the opportunity to operate legally.

A limited number of offline and online casinos can obtain a license to operate; the term of legal operation will be 5 years.

So Ukrainians who love gambling can once again try their luck on slot machines. The main thing is to check that the place where you play is legal.

Why casinos are so popular

The cult of gambling originated in Europe and later received wide coverage in American cinema. Who hasn't seen films about reckless young men who rob slot machines or hit the jackpot? The trend gained significant status thanks to its popularization in cinema and later spread to countries around the world, including Ukraine.

No-deposit casinos have been very successful: games in which anyone can try their hand without risking their own money. Usually, players are simply asked to register in a database or on an online platform. This type of game has become popular in Ukraine: almost every establishment offers to place a bet without a deposit.

What will happen to casinos in the future

Whether the success of cards, slot machines and dice will last is unknown. The gambling business is significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic: huge chains from all over the world are forced to close their branches and even cease operations.
